Jess and Josh got married on Sunday at Bredbury Barn in Cheshire, and it was beautiful! My day started with the girls getting ready in the cosy Barn with heavy rain lashing down outside. Nicola Bird & Peggy were doing the girl's absolutely beautiful make up (they are always amazing, what a dream team!) and Hair by Emilie Jayne did a some absolutely beautiful boho hair for Jess and her girl gang, and they all looked stunning. Jess had told her bridesmaids to choose their own dresses in an autumnal colour palette, but the first time she saw all the dresses together was on the wedding day! The girls had done an incredible job though, and all the colours looked so beautiful together - there were greens, rust, burnt orange and burgundy and the colours all looked stunning together - like the leaves on an autumn tree 🍁🍂 I loved that the girls all had their own choice of footwear too, so there were some heels but also some Doc Martens in there!

Jess's dress was a show stopper - it was a gorgeous satin gown with puffy sleeves from The Bridal House Leeds, what a dream..I do love a dress with sleeves in the Autumn! Josh scrubbed up well too in his rustic suit. The bouquets were really unusual from Hidden Botanics and were dried autumnal flowers and eucalyptus with a real boho vibe. Jess wore blue Vans which not only meant she had comfy feet but also ticked off her "something blue" - win win!

The ceremony took place in the Barn which was lit only by fairy lights, surrounded by only their closest friends and family. It had a really intimate feel which was lovely. I've never had a group of people so quiet either, as the registrar said, they definitely won the best behaved wedding guests of the year award! One of Jess's bridesmaids followed through on a promise she made a decade ago when they were at school together, to sing at Jess's wedding, and she sang as Jess walked down the aisle - it was a really special moment and a lovely personal touch.

After saying their vows, we quickly headed outside during a gap in the rain for an AWESOME confetti shot, then it started raining again so we hurried back in for the drinks reception! Due to the weather we adapted our plan slightly and did the couple's group shots inside in the ceremony room against the sparkly fairy lit backdrop, ensuring everyone stayed nice and dry! Jess and Josh then mingled and enjoyed some canapés before we had another dry spell so we headed outside for our couples portraits with one of Jess's bridesmaids as my trusty helper. After a bit of practise, and kicking off her heels to really throw herself into her role as chief veil tosser, we nailed some gorgeous shots of the couple and had plenty of fun in the process! As the grounds of the Barn were closed to weddings due to the repurposing of the hotel, we went for a little walk down a nearby country track. We achieved some beautiful images, even if we did get a bit muddy along the way!

Next it was back to the venue for wedding breakfast (which was really delicious!) followed by some very heartfelt and emotional speeches from Josh, his best man and Jess's dad, some lovely words said by all and not a dry eye in the audience. As the sun was trying it's hardest to make an appearance at this point, we seized the day and popped outside for another 5 minutes of couples portraits before all the evening guests started to arrive. Jess and Josh had bucket loads of entertainment planned for the evening, with a selfie mirror, sweetie cart, chocolate fountain and some awesome gaming units - it was fun watching the guests battling it out and getting very competitive over Mario Kart!

Jess and Josh then cut their cake - made by the insanely talented Cow and Cake - and let me tell you this cake was out of this world - an autumnal feast for the eyes, and I'm sure it tasted incredible too. It was super tall and the gorgeous autumnal oranges and golds were absolute perfection. It was a real talking point and all the guests wanted photos of it. Then it was straight into first dance (the couple chose Foo Fighters Everlong as their first dance song) and were then joined on the dance floor by all of their guests. I left the couple partying the night away with everyone who meant the most to them in the world. A lovely wedding from start to finish. Thank you for choosing me to capture it Mr & Mrs N!
